Joint air display of Air India aircraft and Air force

The Indian Air Force frontline fighter aircraft would be taking part in a joint air display with the aircraft from the Air India’s fleet at Mumbai on 09 Sep 07. The fly past is taking place as both Indian Air Force and Air India are celebrating their Platinum Jubilee this year.
The frontline fighters of IAF such as SU-30s, MiG-29s, Jaguars and MiG-21 Bisons would be flying in close formation with representative aircraft from Air India’s entire fleet. The fly past would be followed by an aerobatic display by IAF’s Surya Kiran aerobatic team ‘THE SKATS’. A solo aerobatic display by IAF SU-30 Air superiority fighter would also be taking place. The aircraft of the fly past and aerobatic display would be flying between Chowpaty and Nariman point at Mumbai.
The essence of the entire effort, apart from a ceremonial public display is that, the flypast is likely to take place without any prior practices or rehearsals. This would also cause least disruption to the civil traffic.
Recently when the Air India’s Boeing 777 arrived at New Delhi for the first time from Seattle, USA they were ceremoniously escorted by IAF SU-30s on 28 Jul 07 at IGI Airport, New Delhi.

guys how about an ip spotting at Mumbai to witness this rare occasion?

i think its only obvious that we'll have a spotting event,trust yash to camp at nariman point two days prior to the start of the event.

yeah lets plan and all,even though there is quite some time for it.

any one has any idea regarding the timing??

No clue about the timing....
but here is a catch ,
last time people made it to the area long time before the air show started!
They were there 4-5hrs prior to the start!
So if u wanna see the things from a real good angle....
go there fast...
real fast!
Get up early in the morning and make it there!

When the 380 was coming...
Not many people (non-aviation) knew its arrival but even then there was a HUGE crowd there of the locals and fellow spotters!
Infact we were shocked to see so many people around us!

Now imagine....
Planes are of fascination to the normal public!
There is gonna be an airshow so u can expect 10times the people present when the 380 came!

Ps-best bet : Tune into Zee / Aaj Tak or something and fix a 9.1 Surround speaker in your house...and enjoy!

guys lets make plans!! the entire nariman point i think will be blocked for cars and stuff,last time it was.
