TAM 320 crash :(

Brazilian 320 crashes......unfortunately nobody survived....

Tam Airlines, Brazil's largest, said the Airbus 320 was carrying 170 passengers and a crew of six when it crashed into the airline's own offices at the airport, which is located inside Sao Paulo city limits.

An earlier media report on the accident put the number of fatalities at three, with eight injured inside the building.

Tam's flight JJ3054 from Porto Alegre, to the south, skidded off the runway, which was wet from rain, crossed a road and slammed into a Tam Express office at the airport that handles packages and equipment, the airline said.

The airplane disappeared inside the building with only its tail end remaining visible from the outside, witnesses said.

Fire fighters battled the blaze for nearly two hours after the crash.

Earlier reports had said the plane had crashed into a gas station outside the airport perimeter.

A spokesman for airport managing company Ifraero refused to say how many victims the accident had caused so far for ethical reasons, "because first we have to inform their families."

Aquaplaning might be one of the reasons 'cause the runway was wet but to wht extent ..is anyone having that info..........

i read it on yahoo news,it says the runway was too short and not to forget wet as well.

hmm well the capt. deployed reverse thrusters and then after a while decided to go-around ... thats what happened.

what are the laid down procedures for go around after deploying reverse thrusts for A 320 a/c?

well from what was drilled into our minds during training, u NEVER EVER attempt a Go-Around once thrust reversers are deployed
